So i drove to work the other day and had tunner pro on it said my coolant was at 230-240 degrees. but my gauge cluster was at mid point which i assume is 200. Now i know what you are going to say that they are two different sensors. this is way over what my fans should kick on at as well. Now here is the kicker. When I hook up my ez scan 5line reader under data monitor setting it show my my coolant going to 210-215 at most before coming back down and it reads inline with my gauge cluster.
both pull off the temps from the computer. Another big difference is that before i start the car the ez scan is more in line with the ambient temperature. where as tunerpro is usually 50ish degrees more.
So what gives?

im not 100% but i think the senses that the gauge reads off of is the one in the front of the water pump and the one the pcm reads is in the side of the head.

yes it does but both the scanner and tuner pro pull off the same sensor.

I've noticed a few inconsistencies with Tuner Pro RT also. And really from what I've gathered, it's not so much Tuner Pro RT itself, it's the definition (ADX) file that you use which will affect it. What ADX definition are you using?

My EFI Live reports the incorrect temperature on the LS1 cars that I tune as well... I think it's a GM thing. I wouldn't worry too much. With a "built" engine I would have a manual gauge to keep an eye on it. In a stockish car, go off the factory gauge.

I think im using the one off the tunerpro web page. But i could be wrong about that as i was messing with different dash boards and stuff maybe I accidentally screwed up.
gregrob I been reading your build thread. Im very impressed with the car.
meissen Nice to see another 3.4 to lt1 transplant. I wish i had more time to do mine so it would have come out as nice as yours did.

Thanks Adam! It's definitely not for the feint of heart, and by the time I was done my cheap swap ended up being a 7500 project.
Here's the ADX file I've been using which seems to work a little better than the one on TunerPro's Definitions page - it's in this folder:

cool ill try those files and see how it works.
I think mine cost me about 5g with out the engine rebuild because they sold me a bad motor but i went through and replaced a lot of parts.
