Guys, a guy at work has a 93-94 Camaro hardtop, V6, stripper car, 0 options at all, body in good shape. Thinking of getting it for $500 and putting my engine/trans in it and painting it matte black. I have a Loaded 'vert. Opinion?

I say go for it, keep the vert as a cruiser and have a turbo'd matte black race car!

If you have a similar year lt1 and your going to use it for parts its fairly simple. I did swap in just a few days and I did mine by collecting parts instead of using a donner car. I have pictures and even a really crappy write up. The biggest thing your going to want to watch out for is to make sure it is legal in your state to do what you want to do. Most states its legal to swap in engines that would have been equipped in the car or they don't care at all. But a small few conversions aren't allowed
If you have any specific questions on the conversion feel free to ask me.

Only issue is its not just gonna be a simple swap lmao. Have to cut out the core support (upper and lower) and relocate a lot of things, delete HVAC, swap K members (too many parts on it not to, manual rack, big brakes, adj shocks, springs, new bearings, etc), differential, sumped tank, fuel lines, all the 24X stuff, gauges, body wiring, etc. I did consider making my green car a cruiser though, maybe toss the V6 into it and do a budget turbo setup just for kicks?

This with my turbo LT1, T56, S60, and RTSes.....yum (Not actual car, but what I wanna do to it).

Well I should have looked at your profile better i didn't realize it was a turbo set up. Why do you want to go to a hard to? just not into the convertible? Besides the turbo part you would need the kmember, radiator, rear, fuel pump and engine bay wiring harness and engine harness and gauge cluster and a few other things. the body harness should plug into the dash harness alright but it may change slightly depending on the years. the real pain in the ass thing about camaros is something changed Every single year.

I think being FAST and TOPLESS is cooler.....

True popo. Think I should just do weight reduction?
Thing is that the entire body harness and everything else will need swapped. I got my ebc, aftermarket fans, twin pumps, and all the deleting. Unless I wanna redo it :-/.

I want a hard top so tech won't be as rough on me and to save a few lbs.

True popo. Think I should just do weight reduction?
....
Well let me ask you this.... WHY? Are you trying to be so competetive that the extra weight will restrict you? I think my car is kinda quick, and I removed the rear seat for some wood seat deletes.... No other weight reductions are in the future. Because, I am not planning on competing with it.... rather, I just LOVE having a QUICK street car....

Trying to have the quickest street car I can (within reason). The convertible just has some limitations.

Have you takin it to the track yet?
Just curious, because top or not, that thing is still a monster (I BET).

Not yet, all I have safety wise right now is a DS loop and the local track is a douche about tech.

the harness inside the car or the dash harness different from the body wiring harness. the engine bay body harness has to be changed regardless as the v6s is much different. It runs in on both the driver side and the passenger side so you have to remove the kick panels to get to them you also have to remove the wipers and the plastic piece under them to get to a plug.. It took me about 45minutes to an hour to swap mine out. However since yours is what it is that might be slightly different. BUT my guess is with all the work you have done to your car you probably new all that LOL.
I say do it. But then again i HATE convertibles 99% of the time i feel like they wrecks the lines of the car.

Well I got the car, now what do I do with it? THe more I look at it the more I wanna swap it all but then again my car is soooooooo clean and completely rust free, no surprises when I take stuff apart, No rattles, leaks or squeaks, etc. I could flip it and trade it on craigslist and see if I can up-trade and get something nicer and keep that ball going until I got something worth a fair amount...

Price is a tad high but some hilljack here in town has to want one. I almost copied popo's paint theme but didn't wanna insult him lol. There's a special price for LTXTech members if anyone on here wants it.
