So a buddy of mine is using some gto spare rims for skinnys and not having to use a spacer or anything. Has one else seen this before ill try to get a picture up

i have seen it done and my friend drove about 75 miles to the track with them on and after his runs at the track he call another friend of his to bring his normal rims to go home on. i have seen it done ... but i WOULD NEVER do it my self

the spare wheels sould be find to run and drive on, but do not use the spare tires!!! buy some good tires on the spare wheels

No he changes out the spare tire for a trackmate tire but I was wondering if u know if using a back spacer is need cause I'm about to grab some from my buddy for 10 bucks a rim

Jack your car up, and try one on.... then you will know for sure....

I though about doing this myself. I had a buddy that did the same with his 06 GTO, worked great.

A lot of C5 and up Corvette guys use the GTO spares. Looks like total arse IMO, but it works.

Yea they don't look the best but if ur on a budget they work you know then u pick up some painted 16 rims and plastydip the rims back to match the front then walu u got a cheap set of rims for the track

no i have the full set on my 80ta but iv been using the fronts on my 95 from time to time. but now have prostars for the front of the 95 to match the rears

So ur running thoughs on the front of the car and then ur useing what for the rears

yea but the summit wheel dont come in the right back space for a 4th gen in a 10" wheel

10" wheels need 7.5
8" wheels need 5.5

SexyTransAm - You provided some really helpful info in this thread. Do you mind providing your tire sizes as well? I'm thinking of putting my 17x9.5 black pc'd ZR1's on my Camaro and getting a drag wheel setup to run on the street.
