has anyone eveir heard of rebuilding a torque converter and making it to like a 2800 stall speed! if so can you rebuild it to be a 3k stall! or would you be better off getting a yank 3k stall!

Ive actually ran both. I had an SS3600 and a cheap rebuilt 2500-2800 stall. The Yank is worlds different especially if you plan on racing. The rebuilt unit did okay though and got the job done but didnt hit the tires nearly as hard as the yank. Drivability was about the same but the lockup quit working in the stock converter before I sold the car.

As I said drivability was the same with both of them. There is no reason to not go with an SS3600!!! My only problem I had with mine was severe traction issues after install . The car was stock besides a cold air intake and 373s and would bust the tires loose at 25mph when the converter would flash at WOT.

ok do you think a yank 3000 stall would probably be better than the 3600 so i dont always spin tires?

and do you think the yank was probably a better investment?

Definitly go with the yank. It is a much better investment. I would get the 3600 and set the car up to get traction. My car was lowered with stock suspension. With some sticky tires and a little suspension it would have been a redlight killer.

Start with the Yank SS3600 and never look back. You will be glad you did/

I have an SS3600 and I love it. My car is just a bolt-on LT1 and it drives great on the street and performs awesome on the track. My car will 60' in the 1.6-1.7 range at the track and it is barely noticeable driving around town.
