View Full Version : Will be putting CALL911 on the rollers again this Saturday (8 October)...

It has been a while since my tune from Bryan Herter from PCM's for less (who did an amazing job I will add). Since then, I have added a larger air filter, and changed out my 1 3/4 LT headers for 1 7/8 LT headers. The car feels more powerfull than it did previously when it put down 555 RWTQ and 614 RWHP.
Saturday I should find out what it actually is doing.
I will post up the results here. Any guesses of what it will make?

Well, to my dissapointment, it did the exact same RWHP as before. Worse than that, it showed down a bit on RWTQ.
My original dyno results when it was tuned years ago was 614 RWHP, and 555 RWTQ.
My dyno results from yesterday were; 614 RWHP and 529 RWTQ.
I was reminded at the dyno that it is mearly a measuring tool, and every dyno is different, and all atmospheric conditions are not equal. The car feels stronger than before, and it would have been nice to see the difference. I guess I will trust the track more than the dyno as it was trapping 3 MPH faster than it ever did before this year after the headers.

It was done on a dyno jet. Had it been a mustang dyno and I would have expected lower numbers.
I plan on tracking the car again as soon as mother nature realizes it is actually the middle of October now and decides to bring some cooler weather accordingly. Once it cools down about 10-20 degrees, I will run it at the track. I saw 131 MPH at the track earlier this year when it was no kidding 100 degrees. If I don't see 131 at the track again this time or better I may end up digging into the motor to see if there is anything wrong.
popo8; I think you'll have a very good chance if you get that H/C/I setup on your car all dialed in. But, it is still just going to be a baby P1SC pushing it, so I may still have a chance ;)

Well, its officially confirmed that my car is NOT down on power. After this dyno I was a little concerned as the TQ had taken a drop, and this was AFTER putting the larger headers on.
I went to the same track last night that I previously went 131 MPH at earlier this summer. Last night the car went a new MPH best of 134!
So, it just goes to show that all dyno's are not created equal.

I have heads and an intake.... Still need alot more... FLY CUTTING pistons, Shaft mounted rockers, pushrods, cam arrival, tuning and all the misc stuff.... ANd no... I work for a Police Department....... I "hang out" at a performance shop...

Meh. Parts could be delivered in the standard 3-5 days, a day for tuning, and even a generous MONTH for misc, and that still leaves you with more than 8 months to spare. You got me on the work thing, as I know you are a popo, but having a shop that knows you well usually means you can get those parts in your car with less trouble than it would be for most.
I say get started now, so you are ready to rock that bad boy out by spring. Then you'll have all the bugs out of the system and no excuses come the 2012 shootout. ;)

Just to warn you, the last car Sean wrenched on that raced me ended up blowing up. I say this not telling you Sean doesn't know what he is doing (on the contrary, he knows a bit, and I would trust him wrenching on my car any day), but more just telling you just when it runs against me it might happen. It's not just him either, over the summer an RX-7 who lined up against me ended up blowing it up as well.
You have now been warned and officially waived the right of putting any responsibility on me from any mishap that may take place by racing me. :D

I can't not tell any friend and have any kind of clean conscience. It's just that almost all who go the P1SC route end up wishing they did the D1SC route instead, and I try not to let that happen.

well as of know it will be a P1 that i am using, since as i said i got a great deal on the full kit, but i am going to send it in to ProCharger to get inspected and who knows.....it may come back as a D1sc....all depends on how the accounts look when i get the motor finished.

well right from the start i am going to use the larger pulleys (4.5") i want to start out safe with it, and since i have never driven a FI car i dont want to get stupid till i get use to it. but with in the year after getting it road worthy again i plan on maxing the blower wither its the P1 or D1. the motor is being built to handle a maxed F1 so ill be good.

I can almost guarantee it will be in the same place. Most guys come from 8+ hours away. I was 10.5 hours away (660miles). The track is a national caliber track, the hotel is sweet, plenty of great places to eat, and many other things to do once you are there. Hard to find a better spot when you factor in that it has to accomodate people from all over the country.
