Hey guys-

I just picked up a set of rockers for my hot rod build for quite a steal, but I'm unsure of how the geometry is going to work out. I didn't realize this possible issue until I already had them "in the bag".
They're Scorpion 1.6 rockers, 7/16" stud, .1" offset. The motor (LT1) is a cam only build, stock heads/stock block (original, never been cracked open). I don't have pushrods, springs/retainers/locks yet. I do have ARP 7/16" studs and Trick Flow 5/16" guideplates.
Cam specs are 224/236 .565/.565 110 LSA.
I've been doing a bit of reading, and it seems that there are some guys with .15" offset rockers that aren't having any issues. Conversely, there are some claiming that this is a huge mistake. It almost seems like a matter of opinion when dealing with a small offset.
What are the potential issues for this? What do I need to look out for?
Thanks-
-Brett-

Thanks for the contact, but he's also a dealer of parts from what I gather. I really wouldn't feel comfortable asking someone for advice/information on parts that I didn't buy from them. It's just not good business.

How do they look on the heads. With guide plates and proper length pushrods installed? IIRC the last few builds we did with the TFS 21* guide plates had half the rockers angled a bit. The valve stem was off centered of the rocker arm roller tip. No problems to report. I did have to grind the bottom of the "U" where the push rod rides on 2 builds. Both builds had very very milled heads.

Well, I'm still waiting on the rockers to come in (still in shipment). I'm using stock heads. I've heard that using these on aftermarket heads usually works alright, due to a slightly different configuration than stock. I have a comp pushrod length checker, I might one rocker/pushrod setup to see how it works first. But I've already got my eyes on another set of non-offset rockers also, just in case.

I ended up getting a kick-ass deal on a set of crane golds on Ebay. They're in great shape, lightly used, for $112.50 + ship!

Offset scorpions are now for sale, for the same price I got them for. Brand new in the box, for $145 shipped.
