i just bought my 3.73 gears and i am looking to get them installed some time after my next check ... i got a quote from a guy and he said that its going to run me $400 to tune my car after the gear change. now this is also a dyno tune where we will help bring more power out of the mods i have done ... i have a cable and 2 programs ... datamaster and tunepro RT... i dont know squat on how to tune my car but i would like to learn ... i know that the cable works cause i can use a program called Freescan to read off my computer how the car is running. my question is how hard is it to change the factory tune to shift right with the jump from 2.73's to 3.73's?

I use tunercats for this, I could give you the scalar values though to plug into tunerpro. Not too difficult

Program the PCM. Sending the new tune to the pcm takes about 4 mins. IIRC the tune is only 128kb. Serial is sloooooooooowwww. If you want post your tire size, and Ill get you the conversion info like in that pic I attached.

IIRC the hypertech tuners are vin locked. You'd have to revert your car to the stock tune with the hypertech before you could use it on another car.
