Im trying to find cc503 350ci tunes and datalogs to compare to mine. I cannot get my car to idle right and havent gotten far changing tables or finding info on line.

If anyone would be so kind as to email me their tune files for CATS or their data logs for me to compare. :D

Thank you.

They sure seem to be. I hate making multiple threads asking away about my problem (mainly a n00b at tuning). Doesn't seem like I am going to figure this out anytime soon.

I think I may have got it. But Id like to know the proper way so I can start fresh from a stock tune. Ill try to make this short. The car had an issue with finding and maintaining idle. On initial start up the car would idle about 1200 then come down and steady to about 100-250RPM over the desired idle. About 25 seconds later it will drop to the desired idle. Then when I put it in gear after proper idle was acquired the car would bog down about 400RPM and slowly recover. But as soon as I tap the throttle it would come right back to life. I adjusted every table involving idle or IAC. No luck.

I ended up snagging a LT4 Hotcam tune off my friends car and plugged in any table from that tune that thought would involve an idle condition. I think it may have been an AFR problem. The car works pretty well now but is pig rich. (buddies car has 32lb injectors and is a 355).

What would ultimately help me the most would be a run down on the procedure for setting AFR and timing. Right now I have the car set in speed density and open loop. I would like to turn the o2's and MAF back on. I am pretty confident that I can get the car running right with those off. And My wide band will now log RPM as well, so I can use that and compare it to my data logs to get a good AFR. I assume I will need to adjust more tables once I turn the MAF and O2's on. I haven't got this far yet with the tune, but I have modified this tune more than 30 times. I would like to start fresh from my stock tune again.

Sorry for the essay/rambling. :D

one thing to think about....idle tuning with an aftermarket camshaft that has some overlap, you have to be careful, your going to get a false reading on your wide band at a dead idle. its going to show you to be leaner than what you actually are due to the loss of idle efficiency. what i like to do, wrong or right, is to set my closed throttle timing to 28-32 degrees, along with the relevant tables at say 1200-1500 also. get the car started and warmed up by any means, then rev to that 1200-1500 mark where the engine smooths out a bit and then get my afr from the wideband. once i have those numbers where i want them ill make some educated guesses at the actual idle numbers and do basically an exhaust sniff test. if you fuel up to the point of getting the wideband to read correctly at an idle with an aftermarket cam your usually going to be really rich in the combustion chamber. not sure if anyone else has run into this but i have on several different aftermarket engine management systems. it just seems like the idle settings are mostly a by feel sort of thing.if i cant get the idle down just where i want it with ve and timing then ill dive into the idle air adjustments as a last resort. usually i dont have to do that because i prefer a higher idle than most. thats my .02 for what its worth.

one more thing, yes your doing the right thing by getting your fueling right in open loop, once you turn the o2s on your fueling should clean up even better. all my tuning has come on speed density cars or aftermarket speed density systems, so i cant help with the MAF tables. i do know alot of guys ditching the MAF and running in SD all the time though....just a thought.
