Well Gator Nationals are over and I can get back to tuning my car. I have an issue with changing into gear (Reverse or Drive) from idle in neutral. The car goes to die and is slow to respond. Ive been messing with the Idle Over-speed Spark Retard vs RPM Error and the Idle Under speed Spark Advance vs RPM tables with only minimal success. I don't know what else to change.
Another issue that has me a bit stumped is in gear stopped at a light, I can let the car roll a bit before adding throttle and it will take off just fine. But if I hit the throttle before allowing the car to accelerate on its own it will stumble and almost stall. A friend calls this throttle tip in. I cant seem to find anything in C.A.T.S. tables that is called throttle tip in or anything that sounds like it would help adjust my issue.
Thanks in advance
Brad

Another slight issue that has me wondering is the car hardly chops. For being a cc503 it sure dosent sound like any of the cc503 cars on you tube. :hmm: I know the cam is correct. I have the box and the engraving matches up. I figure its tune related. I have the idle set to 740rpm in both neutral/park and in drive.
I will be glad to email freescan data logs to whom feels like looking through them.

Sounds like might be in your timing tables and I would set the Hot idle to around 650 with that cam.

Sorry to high jack but did you get your intake sealing issue figured out?

Moe, I will try setting the idle down to about 650-680. Running the idle that low makes it chop a bit but worsens my tip in problem. I will add some timing in the lower RPM ranges and see what happens. EDIT: Looking through a cc503 tune I got from a firend the hot idle is set to 875 RPM... (224/230 .535/.544 112lsa)
Speedracer. I do not yet know about the sealing. I cant find a strait answer about my MAP and Vac values. I had the intake angle milled 0.00 from the bottom up to 0.020 at the top. Seems to have helped. I have been driving the car about 100 miles. I plan on removing the elbow and taking a peek to see if my intake is coated again.

Welp, I fixed the tip in problem. I had to add some serious timing to the Main Spark Advance Vs. RPM Vs. MAP tables. I watched my data logs and saw that the timing would drop to o* with throttle at certain MAP values. I added timing where ever it dropped timing ad voilą. Crisp throttle response.
Only issue now is the RPMs falling to 300 when put in gear. Idle is now set at 687 in drive and 725 in park/neutral. I set my Closed TPS Spark Advance Vs. RPM in the 400-800RPM range to 47* to try and solve the issue. No dice. Still wants to stall. No timing being pulled either which I assume is a good thing lol.
