Getting my tax money back and my wife is giving me some to spend on the car. torn between stock wheels lowered with a sunoco or ss hood, or stock hood with weld wheels or z06 wheels. anyone have a picture of stock wheels with a hood lowered? for now my car is stock with a th350 swap.

one option I thought about is molding my own cowl scoop to the stock hood and but the drag wheels. Have a good friend selling them used for 300 with front tired! 15x3.5 and 15x8

you could paint those salad shooters black for now, and get the sunoco hood! that'd look nice

don't do your own scoop tho, no matter how well it's done, people will know -- and it will be ghetto.

yeah I wouldn't do it myself, it would look ghetto, im not a body man LOL but would have my uncles shop take care of it if I did and have him remove the ugly two vents in the hood at the same time. Thought about having the factory wheels chromed depending the cost. also plan to look for a sponsor of the site to order a hood from if thats the route I go.

If you dont mind.... what is your budget? Maybe there is a reasonable way to do it all....

$700 is the budget, The wheels I am thinking of getting are the Weld pro stars for 300 plus whatever the rear tires cost.

FInd lowering springs used..... Ive seen them as low as 40 bucks on here before....

Find a hood used..... I got mine for 200 bucks off of racing junk. paint it black or grey for now (Check out TEAL's car)

And that leaves u 460 for wheels and tires.....

If your not dead set on those drag wheels, Im sure you can find some 10 spokes or SS wheels used near that price..... try CL or ebay.... or even here or that OTHER site...

I would get a nice set of street wheels. Welds are good for race cars, but on the street not so much - IMHO. I ditched my salad shooters long before I got my hood.

I can get the z06 wheels for 400 but I would still need tires. I have been checking out the classified for a good hood. my can use will be about half street/strip since I wont be driving it every day. not dead set on the drag wheels but was a good deal.

^^ very true, if you put the time in and your not in a hurry you'll find some decent deals. I got my Z06 wheels with new firehawk tires on them for $500. (grant it not the best tires, but they are more than adequate for street use)

not in a big hurry at all. I waited a year for this money so no point in rushing a few more weeks LOL
