Pick up a Eaton Posi. They are rebuild-able and work good. Will run you about $500 from summit.

Im running a Detriot True Trac. Uses worm gears instead of clutches.

the cost is the same for the true track and the clutch style posi form the shop that i am going to have it done at,
he said that the clutch will grab better in the beginning but will eventually it will wear out like the stock one, he also said that the true track will not grab as good in the beginning but will out last the the clutch and grab better in the end of its life.
so there is my problem i am not sure what will i like more or what work for me better? the car is street driven daily and i beat on it more that most people do but i dont trash the car. i do like to slide around corners and i have been told that will burn up the clutch style faster but i have been told that the gear style can become noisy.
..... i just dont know?

MMMM I wish I had my old pics of blown up lockers. Tru Track from my understanding is a locking rear end. If you put any serious power through them they will grenade. If you happen to slip tires in a turn the tru trac will lock and not allow your 2 wheels to turn at different rates and put serious strain on the rear. LSD is IMO the best bet. And like I said Eaton LSD's are rebuild able for fairly cheap. They also don't wear out all that often.
You also can have the shop install heaver springs which will not allow the clutches to slip as much.

The Truetrac is bassed on the zexxel-torsion. Think gen 1 hummers. It is a gear differentiating locker.
I put over 1000 ftlbs to a Truetrac on a DAILY basis, and have been for 2 years. Now granted, that is in a dana 80, but these little light ass cars would be hard pressed to break a Truetrac.
Also, you don't have to add any LSD friction modifiers to keep the clutches alive.
Just my .02.
