tuning cable ??? 95 Z/28

Can I just take a USB cable ...clip the end ...add two pins to plug into pins 5 and 9 in my OBD connector and pulls codes with TUNERPRO ??? Or do i need some special usb cable ??? car is a 1995 z/28 383 with a D1SC procharger ,,new to tuning ...would like to play around with it this weekend

My cable goes from USB to a box (maybe a adapter) to a paralell cable, to the USB port. Got it from Moates, works well. I doubt that just clupping a USB cable will work though. http://www.moates.net/aldu1-and-cabl2-combo-p-128.html?cPath=64

I don't think that would work either. Just buy the USB cable from Moates.
