I'm still undecided about exhaust and I was wondering which type of setup (true duals, y pipe, h pipe, etc) makes the most dyno prooven horsepower?

duals with an xpipe or hpipe will make more than a ypipe run out the back, i personally like xpipes over hpipes...

these gains are minimal (think ~5-10whp at most) unless were talking about an FI vehicle... in that case, the gains are more and more as power levels increase

One of my mustang buddies always says that an x will give you more power up top, and more power overall, and an h pipe gives you more power down low.

I prefer the sound of an h pipe though b/c it is deeper and not as raspy.

Stepped headers with an X, dumped b4 the axle. Is what I have been told makes the most HP.

Yep, good ole' TDs.

Pick what you want really, X/Hs are awsome no matter what...

Exhaust is something you should decide based on sound more than horsepower.

Your not talking about a lot of horsepower as compared to other mods (cam, fi, juice, etc) so, for me anyway, I'm willing to give up 5hp to have an exhaust note I like and a not loud as fuck car.

Just installed my exhaust last night. Duals w/x-pipe through two 3" dynomax race bullets dumped before the axle. OMG! Car Sounds AWESOME! and there was definately a noticable power gain.

again I say, Go with x-pipe dumped!

Not to mention ground clearance.

My true duals have just as much or more ground clerence as a y pipe setup (until I lowered my car :)).

I had hooker long tubes and summit x pipe and dynomax bullets dumped at the axle. It was loud as hell, but sounded good. But it had horrible drone inside the car after the M6 swap and I hated having to yell at my passengers so they could hear me.

Now I have the hookers, summit x pipe, over the axle into a small dual in dual out magnaflow muffler and 2OTL tailpipes and it sounds amazing. Crusing you can bearly hear the exhaust and at WOT it soulds like the dumped bullets, but a little tamer. Only thing that I don't like about it is the rasp on the shifts and decelaration. But there will only be a handful of people (if that) that will have a system like mine and thats why I chose this route. Otherwise I would have went with a mufflex 3.5" or a borla system.

I want to see pics of that. How did you tuck duals into the tunnel up off the ground?
