top speed with 3.73

i have 2.73 from the factory and want more pep for my car but dont have the funds to go with full bolt ons just yet.
so gears will help me " feel " like i got more power and give the car more gut up and go!!!





what will my top speed be with 3.73 gears in a stock as a box 95 firebird formula (assume no rev limiter or speed limiter):hmm:

^^^ not an exact answer but trying to get a general idea? because a m6 car will definalty have a higher top speed than a a4 car with the same gear ratio

Gears shouldn't effect your top speed much, but I'd assume it'd be slightly lower. I personally haven't taken my car over 110, so my question is... What's it matter? How often are you really going 130+ mph?

Use http://www.f-body.org/gears/ to look at your RPM's/MPH currently and with 3.73's. That can be useful to see where your rpm's will be at certain areas. IE, are you going into the trap at the bottom of 4th? are you going to be turning 3500rpm at 70mph? etc.

on a daily basis!

but an A4 with 3.73's can easily bury a 150mph speedo, my GPS showed 158mph with a bout 300rmp to go.

yes its an a4 and i do more high way driving than a lot of people i know. and there are times where there is no one around and my foot seems to magically be come heavier and i cant get it off the floor ... its kinda cool making the dashed line in the middle if two lanes be come solid like the center ones:secret:
