im gonna be getting a stall soon, but before i do i want to get some stuff together... i was thinking a new flexplate from tci, but when i looked there are two : neutral balance and external balance. which one do i use??

If I remember correctly, all LT1 cars are neutral balanced from the factory. Someone else will have to chime in on that though, I am really not sure on that.

well I see that you have a 355, did you use the stock crank when you did that and how did you balance it? with the stock flexplate? the stock flexplate does have the external weight on there.

so if the stock one has the external wieght, then thats the one that i use?? just want to be 100 percent sure even if the answer is clear

yep you need the weighted one.. i have a tci with around 500 miles on it forsale

Depending on what your goals are you may want to get an SFI approved flexplate.

I know this is old, but do we need the interal or external balanced flexplate on a stock motor?

Externally balanced for stock engines.

For anybody that needs some good info:
Jeg's sells a SFI flexplate that is externally balanced and works perfect on LT1 engines. I bought this exact one at the recommendation from a very well known transmission builder. I paired it with all the proper ARP flexplate and converter bolts and it worked out awesome for my build. Good price too...
