I was out driving around today and decided to lay down a lil rubber out on an old highway, powerbraked for a few seconds then let off smoke pourin out everywhere but when I went back to check the tracks only one wheel spun :( ;( ........ left a one wheel wonder burnout.......and last time i brought it to the track a kid told me my driver side wheel spun for about 2 sec then just stopped while my passenger side tire was off to the races...........anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

my 91 TA use do the same thing, i noticed their was a great deal more tread on the tire that was not spinning. so the tire with less tread was always spinning. i replaced the bald tire and it solved my problem. i think this is more of a safty feature not a problem, my rear was fine and im sure yours is as well, unless you can hear it whinning then you may have some issuses.

they are limited slip rears, meaning after a certin MPH only on wheel is spinning. at what MPH it kicks in at im not sure, this help save gas.

The way theyre designed, I don't see any way at a MPH they just unlock. Around a turn theyre designed to slip because the outer wheel spins faster than the inner. Also, with stock 245s in the rear, my Z wouldn't hook til 80 and get sideways the whole time, I doubt it unlocks because 1- 80 mph is a little fast, 2- it got sideways, a 1 tire fire won't get sideways.

Back on to topic. Could be your clutches getting worn is my best guess.

Almost everytime ive seen a camaro doing a one tire fire, its had bad clutches. Thats common on these cars especially when they get beat.

AS for the mph question , Yes there was a posi unit like this in trucks that had a spring and a lock that would be kinda like a spool at less than 5mph. Though that was a very primative system.

Once again as everyone else said proly your clutches getting worn out.
