This is my first experiment with HDR so I think they came out OK with the little bit of time we threw into the photoshoot. I hope to development more into HDR photos and get better at it. It's not 100% perfectly clean, but good enough to snap some photos on a nice Spring day. I just about changed the settings on all the pics. I think my first pic had the best post-processing settings... Like I said, it's just a start. Enjoy.

You got some nice shots, but I think you over did the HDR ;)
Did you put the camera in auto bracket mode? And if so how many EV steps?

Some of them were overdone, yes. Like I said, I was practicing and have never done it before. Some of them have great settings on them. I did +1.0.

Here's some pointers, try just 0.5 bracketing, it's usually all you need. That's what I used for this picture, and with some HDR'ing: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v395/Evilweredragon/Car%20Show%209-26-09/show16.jpg
Practice makes perfect though! Though overdone, you have what I call an Happy Accident, on this picture:

Look at the sun rays just falling towards the car with the glow. THAT is freakin awesome.

I am betting that the picture is exactly what he is going for. If he wants to do 1.0, then by all means do it. There is no right or wrong, it's all in your taste. Taking pictures that look different from the rest is what makes up photographers. If everyone's looked exactly the same, then photography would be pretty bland.
With that said, I like the pics man. Nice work, and a great looking LSX. :peace2:

Thanks guys. I really wanted to do 5 shots in increments of .7 but the camera only did 3 pictures in increments of either .3, .7 or 1.0. As you can see most of them don't have enough underexposure like my 2nd pic, I didn't have one dark enough to bring out the clouds. I can't wait to get a nice camera of my own and do this stuff more!!
I wanted to get one shot of my interior with some HDR, but it was filthy.

wow man pics turn out great :D but what does or what is HDR? is it like a photo shop?

High Dynamic Range. It requires a camera that can take multiple exposures.. Overexposed, and underexposed. Then combining them to get this effect. Overexposed (too much light, or too bright of an image) shows shadows wells, and underexposed (not enough light) shows highlights and brighter areas better. That's how the clouds came out great on the first pic. I was not able to do enough settings with this camera to get the most ideal image, for example you see some pictures where the sky is just drowned out, thats because I was not able to get it underexposed enough, it was way too bright out.. A good HDR program is Photomatix. It requires "tone mapping" which is adjusting colors, highlights, shadows, saturation etc.

wow I didnt know that, but sounds pretty cool and complex! lol Is that how you got the pic of your hood closed but could also see the engine bay as well?

The transparent hood pic was not HDR. just 2 pics taken. One with the hood up, and one with the hood down. Photoshopped with added transpareancies on the layer of the hood.
