Ive had a few LT1 cars but this is my first 6 speed so Im not to familiar with clutches, pressure plates, etc. I dont know what Im looking at to be honest....it all looks good to me but ya never know. I was going to go to this local speed shop and ask but I think they will just try to sell me a clutch.

Also, the clutch and pressure plate are both Valeo, is that a good clutch to begin with?
My pressure plate and flywheel are smooth but look kind of burnt.....should I turn this?

It felt ok to me. Ive only driven this car around the block to determine a noise it was making. The motor has since been pulled and here we are....
I thought maybe someone on here who has had a few apart can just tell by looking, I know these pics suck. Im also not sure if this is even a good clutch to begin with

The valeo is a stock replacement and not bad as far as replacements go. There are fairly inexpensive also. If it was my car I would put a clutch in while it was apart.

so when you say put a clutch in it while its out....do you mean just buy another fiber disk?
Is the valeo pressure plate decent or should I buy a whole new kit?

FYI, Valeo makes the McLeod Street Twin clutch parts.
That clutch doesn't look bad. Not too impressed with the disc spots that are chunked out, but other than that things don't look bad. How much meat is on the surface of the disc still (depth of "tread" in the friction material)???

fastbird do you mean the thickness of the individual pads on one side
or thickness of the whole fiber plate
If it were a tire I would say the tread is about 1/8" thick. You can still hang your fingernail in the little vein looking things in each pad.
This clutch only has about 10k miles on it

I would have the machine shop clean up the flywheel and PP and just put a new disc in it. Just my .02
