I was just wondering, how can ya tell if a shift kit is in the tranny? When just cruising, it seems like the shift point is higher than a stock tranny from 1-2 and 2-3. It does not feel like its going bad either, it actually feels very strong to have high mileage.... Any help is appreciated.

Kinda sounds like a stall if it is shifting higher than normal. The trans could also have a tune for higher shift points. Many Many Varibles to see what is done to it. IIRC A basic shift kit will put spacers in the accumulator so it hits harder. Drill out the pump so it dumps more fluid as well.

prob stick a pressure gauge on the trans if it has a shift kit usually the trans will have more line pressure than stock

I was thinking that... but Ive never driven a stalled auto before so not sure. I am the 3rd owner of the car, and I have taken anything apart yet.... so not sure if its stock or not. 160k and it pulls really hard still. Im in the process of putting new head gaskets on right now.

Would a better gauge be to throw it on the dyno, to figure out if its modded? The only thing i plan on doing this year is, exhaust and CAI most likely.

Well I went from a m6 to stalled auto with a 3k Hughes, and from a stop light my car would rev to right aboud 2500 and proceed to acclereate at the same rpm until the car shifted.

Once you get it back together grab a pressure gauge, On the Driver side there is a pressure port midway up the trans to tap into. Tyler made a good point bringing that up.

Thanks fellas I appreciate the help... Right now the radiator is the only thing out, so I will check the pressure asap.
