Blew the TH350..

Ok so when I built my buddy a 94 Trans Am we decided to use a TH350 with a shift kit and stall cause i had blown 4 4L60E's and he didn't want the same problem.. So i did the swap and eventually the car got traded to my brother and i was driving it a couple weeks ago and got into a race and destroyed the tranny.. I thought the Th350 was suppose to be a strong tranny.. Car has the following..

Vette 4 bolt main block, PP vett heads, LT4 hot cam kit, Pace Setter long tubes, Flow master super 40, Th350, Adjustable shift kit on stage2 out of 3, 2,400 TCI stall.. this set-up has about 5,000 miles on it..

It has a nitrous kit but has never been used and a set of 3.73's that have yet to be installed..

Any luck finding out what let go in the tranny? Curious to know...its what I run in my car.

Ive got quite a few passes including a handful of NOS passes with no problems (knock-on-wood).

I'm about to pull the damn thing.. All forward gears are pretty much toast but reverse is just fine..

Yeah, need to know a little more about what exactly popped inside. th350's WHEN BUILT RIGHT, are VERY strong. Even bone-stock, they will handle a lot more abuse than a 4L60E.

How many miles were on the th350?
How good was the fluid?
How new was the stall?

I have personally seen brand-spanking new trannies run with a "supposed" good used stall and go kaput after 1000 miles. Usually it's the junk converter spewing little chunks inside of the new tranny. Heat is a huge enemy of a tranny.

That sucks that it's broken but, honestly, it won't cost much for a rebuild. $500 or so and it will be mint.

Transmission and TCI 2,400 stall had maybe 5,000 miles on it.. Fluid was just changed and nothing looked wrong.. One day tight as could be shifting hard, next day slipping like a bitch..

Oh he knew.. He races it more than me and told me to go ahead and take it out to see how it pulls, and just my luck it fucks up lol.. Oh well it's cool, more reason to put a bigger stall in right..
