I have done a great deal for researching, and for now i'm planing on staying with the 10 bolt for a while, and i really REALLY want gears, i hear they do wonders.... but what gears ratio wise ? mostly stock car with 502 cam... what do you think? i really want it to rip outa the hole...... thanks guys!

Auto car.......3.73
Manual Car...4.10 Keep in mind these are my personnal preferences

Also, when picking gears, make sure you check the dealer data sheet, which is basically a sticker on the inside of the glove box, and see what code you have. One carrier is for 2.73's, and the other is for gears larger. This makes a difference when ordering the gears. I had the GU2 code in mine, which meant I needed to order the 3.73 gears that fit the 2.73 carrrier.

The 2.73 to 3.73 gears change was a solid 0.3 sec reduction in my 1/4 mile time back when it was basically stock as a rock.

Well just so we start on the right foot, if you throw sticky tires on there...."ripping outta the hole" is gona grenade that rear sooner rather than later.....

With that being said, I dont have sticky tires on my 6spd and I love my 4.10s.....

I've heard this too. I've been running my auto car on a slick tire for a few years on the bottle, and no issues yet, but I hear the manual cars have it off much worse.

I have an M6 with 4:10's and I destroyed 2 10 bolts in under a year. Gears make a world of difference, but if you are a stick car I would start saving for something better.

You can also play with tire height.

Has anyone ever tried 4.56's that are made for the 10 bolt? Im not worried about blowing the rearend, but 3.73's just arent near enough gear for the track.

I had 4.56 gears for awhile. practically made 1st gear useless :D then i broke the axle so bad it was cheaper to find a replacement axle.
Definitly saving for something I can't break.

I would LIKE 250 for the Motive Gears AND a Motive Rebuild Kit. Everything is still new and still in the boxes they came in!

If that is too high, pm me and we can work something out.

I personally have 3.73's on my M6 car. But then again, I don't see a lot of track time.... :)

I believe you want the 7.5/7.625 set. If you are unsure, have the garage that will be installing them buy them and the install kit.

I have a TH350 with a 28" tire, and Im track only. Did you make any clean passes with those gears before it broke. Im looking to get a set of 4.56's because 3.73's arent cutting it.
