Well, things are going a bit slow, we got nailed with some snow so I was busy plowing but its all good. Still progressing by ordering parts, got a used set of nitto 555r off ebay, 275 50 15 so rearend gearing wont be so crucial since im having a hard time finding my 8.8. I also sent payment to Lloyd for my cam/spring kit, he said about 2 weeks; I really cant wait for that, gonna call jegs now for my pushrod length checker, anyways a couple more pics for u guys.....

Well, found some motivation/beer (thx dawdaw!) @dawdaw and got my rear suspension wrapped up, the lower contolr arms were a real bitch to get out too but its done nonetheless. Then a fabbed up a lil button/bracket setup for the happy gas. Hoping my cam gets here soon; its like christmas all over again IMG_4668.jpgIMG_6761.jpgIMG_7495.jpgIMG_7822.jpgIMG_9964.jpg

Thx for the comments / kind words guys! Hey ,mikey 2 questions: Looks like you have the same cam i'm waiting on, how do you like it / what can i expect? Next, i see you have a crown vic rear ive been thinkin about doing one also, is it the same idea as a ranger explorer swap? How many spline axles? I been lookin for a ranger/mustang rear so i can use my stock axles, sorry for all the questions and thx in advance for the help! @mikey4play

I am just now getting my car back together.have not even started it yet. I used the complete axle out of the crown vic still 28 spline. I basically copied the Hiltsy mount made for the explorer.

Ah ok, did u use the ten bolt axle tubes or is the crown vic rear very close in width to the ten bolt where you can sneak by? Reason i ask is, if its 1/4 or 1/2 in difference then i might be able to just cut and reweld the spring perches and such, swapping tubes leaves alot of room for error as far as alignment is concerned. Truing bars n jigs bring the build cost way up. Do u have any pics? @mikey4play

I used the complete crown vic axle. I bought new brackets from racecraft that I had seen from another build. Was going to buy the Hiltsy mount kit but the crown vice center section is shaped different from the explorer so I just copied it. Had a friend redrill my bolt pattern and 10 bolt brake brackets. I did just weld my torque arm bracket on since the previous owner cut it up to fit a 12 bolt. phone 321.jpgphone 322.jpgphone 325.jpgphone 328.jpgphone 329.jpgphone 372.jpg

The bigest down fall of this axle. It's about a 1/8 inch a side wider than the 10bolt. My 295's still clear but it is tight on the outer wheel lip now. My car is not lowered so I think it will be ok. Also these only came with 28 spline axles.
