    Default 4.56 or 4.10 gears for a M6 383 LT1 stroker?

Looking at buying a Strange S60 for my '95 Z28 and trying to decide whether to go 4.10 or 4.56? The car is a M6 and will have an LE3 built heads/cam 383 stroker. Car will be mostly street driven with occasional track time for fun. What are your opinions? Thanks!

4.10's. You do not want 4.56's in a street driven car. I had 4.56's when I bought my car, 1st and 2nd were pretty much useless and you were stupid high in the rpm range on the highway. I would even venture to say you may be happier with 3.73's if you're not going to race it seriously.

Agree 100%. When I first went to the S60, I did the 4.56s, they only lasted about 4 mths, switch back to 4.10s.

Truthfully the real answer here depends on what size tire and RPM you plan on running, but I would agree that 4.56s are (most likely) too much.

If he were planning to run it as a serious drag car, then yeah, all that is very much true. 4.56's are far too much in a street driven car, I can tell you that from personal experience, as can NuckinFutz.

I am just running a 275/40/18 on all fours. If I am hitting the track I will slap on a set of 26" tires... nothing crazy.
