Default Time to knock off the dust!

Well, I have owned my 1995 Sebring Silver Z28 since new. I ordered it in late ‘94. Anyway, I landed a job which provided a company car and the mods to Z28 began in earnest! The car has had 4-5 sets of wheels, 3 engines, 3 transmission, 3 rearends, and a tons of suspension mods over the decades!
Currently it has a fully built 396 which made about 650 n/a HP (hasn’t been started in over 5 years). It is solid roller, just over .600” lift, 11.8:1 compression, with extensively ported factory heads, and a Hogan’s sheet metal intake. As mentioned, it wasn’t my daily driver, but it was still completely streetable with A/C and nothing “deleted”…except maybe some emissions hardware.
Due to work and life in general, the car has fallen into a bit of disrepair, I hope it is mostly cosmetic, but I plan to pull the heads and replace valve springs, and do a general inspection of the cylinders and short block. Also, I am thinking about adding a supercharger and converting to E85, but at this point I just want it running again.
It was a badass car back in the day and I raced it all around the country in various EFI shootout races.
Anyway, wish me luck. I may be posting looking for parts and pieces. I hope to get to know some of you guys soon.

    Thanks,
    Ronald Trigg

Very cool! Do those vented valve covers push a lot of steam or oil out of them?

Under full throttle blasts, they can push a little oily vapor, but nothing like a cloud of smoke or anything.
The tubes have an insert with 4 thin disks welded to a center shaft. Each disk has 3 holes, all drilled on one side. The disk below has the holes aligned 180 degrees away, and next disk 180, etc…if that makes sense.
This makes sort of a labyrinth so large droplets of oil can’t easy get through. It seems to work well enough for me.

WOW she looks great, and that is a beast! I like power adders and all but I like a naturally aspirated engine myself as well. You're not alone in knocking off the dust Brother! I have recently gotten bit with the bug to finish my 97 Z28 that I started working on in 2012. Since I stopped working on her in 2015, I have had several surgeries, retired, amongst many other things. Look forward to more updates from you as well.
