Default Cold air intake on my jag conversion

Not a question, just a post showing what I ended up doing, maybe this should be in the project or engine swap section, if so please feel free to move....

I kept seeing pictures of other jag swaps where the filter sits totally in front of the rail on top of the radiator upper support, but when I tried that, I couldn’t close the hood, so I had to cut out a section and shift entire thing back about 1.5 inches and it is perfect. If by chance hot air is still getting in there it’s massively outweighed by the amount of cold, so should’ve good, guess I really need to run a scan and see what intake air temps are now!!! Should be a lot different than before....19B24C82-EA79-410A-8D26-5ACDA969C81A.jpeg

Not as much as a PVC CAI, but it should hang.

One thing to note which may or may not happen, but there have been people that have reported surging while moving in the corvettes when they open up the front for airflow with this type of CAI intake setup. It may require some tuning. I haven't opened up my NACA anymore than stock. Something to keep in mind in case it does happen. Apparently it can mess with the MAF readings or something.

No issues that I have noticed yet, drove it to beach last weekend, 90 minutes at 70-75 mph,
But will keep this in kind if anything starts happening,
    Thanks

Darren, I have the same Jag (87) conversion except my donor was a 93 Caprice police interceptor [9C1]. Do you have the part numbers for the Fernco coupler and the air filter?
May try the same thing with my XJSC that has the LT1 out of a 94 Buick Roadmaster.

Good lord, no clue, I have slept since then, I will look back through my paperwork and see if I wrote it down, give me a couple of days though as I am in middle of a summer kitchen remodel, I do remember it’s a fernco 3x3 coupler…

The Fernco looks like the same 1056-33 (3” x 3”) that I have connecting the piece that fills in for the deleted MAF sensor to a Holley 58mm throttle body.
