New from Minnesota 96 Rioadmaster wagon
I have had the 96 wagon since 2013 and been a long time lurker here. Painted it last year over the winter and this year am going to do the drivetrain, engine, trans, and rear axle.
Long time rodder, most years spent on Mopar 340 home build twin turbo builds, all the way back to the carb days before aftermarket efi readily available. Only GM on our 2007 Express van where I got an HPtuner and reprogrammed the transmission to change lockup and shiftpoints to eliminate overheating issues.
I signed up as I am certain to need a tune on it, and it appears there are nearly no decently affordable home tuners available for the 1996 OBDII setup. The HP tuner will not do that year, which kind of sucks big as I already have it and two more registrations to use.
I do have quite a lot of experience with home programming as I did full fuel/spark systems on DFI/Holley/SpeedPro/Fast for the turbo cars, and also the HPtuner changes, so hopefully can do a good job of getting information to the whomever tunes it. I think it will be a quite simple tune, and more of a tweak than anything else.
Engine will be a bit out of the ordinary, from what I see is usually done, as this is my summer driver, trailer puller, cruiser. Stock type drivability with improvements of areas that can be improved in power and efficiency will be the goal. Mostly in town, so gear change from the 2.5ish rear to 3.08. I will do a thread on the engine in the appropriate place.
Hoping to find a tuner in the Minneapolis area, but if it has to be remote that is OK, too.
Glad to be here as a poster, but I have been around on and off for quite a while as I learned the GM stuff here!
As brought home

Welcome! Great looking ride!
We have alot of people here that mess with their own tuning as well as @MoeHorsePower who actually is a tuner and does tuning and knows the LT1.
