I was able to get the steering column from the car that the engine/trans was in.
I modified it a bit to fit the original '57 steering wheel, that may change thought.
The column was too long to allow the correct angle on the steering shaft u-joints so I had to do an amputation.57 steering column amputation 007.JPG

Cut off about 6" from the column and shaft and cut new slots and grooves to retain the original bearing.

Trying to find all the steering photos, here's one of the telescoping steering shaft. It will have to travel with the straight axle over bumps. There was a problem in this photo with the u-joint phasing because they were two different brands. I had to order another u-joint.IMG_0034.JPG
