My profile
I was looking at my profile page yesterday and found that it has been visited 4,558 times! Some of the most recent visits had user names that sounded like Viet spammers. I found this very odd and wondered if anybody else has noticed it. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Is this forum unsecure and full of viruses or something?

I found 2 or 3 suspicious usernames that had viewed your profile.
Forums are always getting hit with spammers - that's inevitable. We have vB StopForumSpam set up which checks every new registration's IP address, username, and e-mail address against a database of known spammers and if a match is found their registration is rejected. Unfortunately, some spammers still get through.

Thanks for looking at it Brian. It makes me wonder how many hits other users profiles were visited? Who's got the highest numbers? Some might get it from popularity, but I think the high visits to mine are something I don't quite understand. I keep a close eye on my internet security out of caution.

I only looked at the last 12 visitors to my profile. Two of them were “lurkers” with lengthy Vietnamese names. The most recent one was 1/2/20. I admin CZ28.com and FirebirdNation. Very little spam on CZ28.... owner Internet Brands seems to have it well under control. Firebird Nation has many robo-spam attacks, 20 or 30 new accounts in a day. But they use robo-generated Euro and American sounding names. You just get to recognize them when they post spam for fake meds, viagra, crap like that. Vertical Scope owns Firebird Nation, and they are a bunch of bumbling incompetents.
