    Have you tried checking to see if one or more injectors are stuck open? Someone told me pull the injectors out and turn on the key,don't start it just check to see if they are leaking.they will pressureize but shouldn't show any leakage.

    If the injectors are leaking the pressure will bleed down rapidly on pump shutoff. I'm surprised he didn’t have pressure leakdown with the leaking fuel pressure regulator.

    I was surprised that the fuel pressure didn't bleed down as well. I took the Opti off today. Found a crack in the cap, oil inside the distributor, water pump shaft seal leaking, and the opti seal leaking. Found a set of 36 lb. Bosch injectors, that are used on 3800 supercharged cars, for a nice price. Solomon cut me a deal on getting the computer retuned for the injectors. Who ever replaced the opti, lock tited the rotor screws and put A LOT of silicone on the cap seal. There is also a lot of wobble in the distributor shaft.

    I'm guilty of loctite on my rotor screws. I had a rotor spin off before.

    Looks to me, when they put the cap back on they over tightened the cap bolt and cracked it. Put it back on anyway, then sold it shortly after. Then I ended up with this giant mess of a car, lol.

    I pulled the seals out today, and cleaned up the timing cover. When I pulled the water pump shaft seal out, I noticed in the race someone has either used a self tapping screw or a drill bit to pull the seal in the past. They drilled trough the seal and into the race. They didn't go though it or damage the pump drive shaft, but there is a small and deeper divots in it. Hopefully it will still seal since the shaft isn't damaged. The old seals rubber were both hard as a rock.
