Repairing the torque arm. Bought 1 inch solid steel bar inserted it 14 inches into the torque arm tube. Then hammered the broken pieces onto the other end checking alignment. Then tack welded it together cutting a grove into it for maximum penetration. Taking it to a friend to be tig welded tomorrow.

All done and back on the road again. Time to set pinion angle and toss it in the trailer till track day.

Man, I know it's probably an old part, but did you talk to Spohn about that? I feel like a critical component like that shouldn't have failed like it did.

I emailed them no response. Had to buy the adjuster screw from them. They shipped it out right away but never responded to my email. I did a lot of reading it seems they do not stand behind this product with this issue. If you google spohn torque arm failure in google images there are a ton of pics with the same break. Costed about 100 bucks to fix it and make it stronger.

Well after a few test hits everything is good to go. Ran into a fuel pressure issue so swapped in a aeromotive 340 e85 friendly pump. Got a few little things to do and will be loading up for a test and tune track night asap.

Well not much has happened with the car, I had some oil psi issues with a wot drop. So pulled the motor found a good bit of wear to the thrust bearing. So I got a canton pan from a friend and was getting ready to send it to the machine shop for a once over. Then I break my femur. I now have 2 rods in my right leg going up from knee to hip then one hip to pelvis. So this will be the end of this project for a good while. Hope to get back started on it just before the new year. Added a pic of the 99 jeep tj we just bought for my wife.
