Default 1st Drive With Turbo / Electric Water Pump Question

Took the car out for the first drive today..... I had concerns with the water pump and temperature of the motor due to how close the exhaust housing and down pipe are.... I tried to wrap the downpipe and exhaust housing as good as I could.... after about a 20 minute easy drive, the exterior motor temp was 190.... which I'm sure is OK.... but what hapo na when I take this ting for a serious drive!!!.... has anyone ever ran a a remote water pump??

any input would be greatly appreciated!!

A buddy of mine ran an EWP with a downpipe closer than yours is to his. He ran it HARD on the street/track for about a month before he twisted the block, and never once had cooling issues or pump problems. You'll probably be ok given your wrap and blanket.

The input is very much appreciated!! I ordered a warning light just in case the motor stops and my eyes a are not on the gauge.... also looking at ditching the twin scroll exhaust housing as well.

Mine is not as close, but its similar.

Had mine out yesterday and with IAT in the 50s, could not get motor to come up past 165* Had to stomp on it to come to thermostat 180*

(Side note, be careful with that IAT, may blow out under boost )

Run a threaded IAT sensor off a Typhoon etc and maybe you can thread the bung in the elbow now?

I wonder if that would work on my Vette too....I kept blowing the seal out the back of the IAT on the car.
