1956 f100

So we've been working on putting the lt1 and 4l60 out of my 93 camaro into a 56 f100. Figured I'd try a build thread.

A little back story on the project: I bought the camaro 5 years ago or so. It had a salvage title from a wreck but was already fixed, rotted bbk shorty headers, and the guy i got it from had put on a spohn k member and lower control arms. He said he was getting all kinds of noise out of them and was ready to just sell it. So i bought it.

I put in a cam and exhaust, after that priorities changed and i drove the car very little, maybe have 500 miles on it since in the past 3-4 years. A house and a marriage later i was ready to sell it.

The former owner of the shop i work at recently retired and was ready to tackle the truck. It had been sitting in his garage since the 80s. It had a FE 390 and fmx transmission. He wanted fuel injection and overdrive, and i wanted to sell the camaro.

That will shock the hell outta people at car shows!! An LT1 powered 56 F100! I like it!

Its a Heidts Mustang II suspension, i think they are out of the chicago area. Kit came with cross member, control arms, shocks, springs, rack, spindles, and brakes. Real high quality stuff. Im workin on those pics lol

Stock cam back in and motor together (mostly). Seats test fit, look pretty good i think. They came out of an 05 stratus that came in with a locked up motor, owner decided to scrap it.

Yea theyre not too bad, especially for next to nothing. I knew a lot of parts were going in this truck, but never would have guessed anything from a stratus.. lol
