    Default Project Fire Pigeon

    Hello all,

I am the father of zeNIPrec. He spun a bearing on his way to Dyno Day last year.
After many mind changes of parts being bought, he finally has a direction he wants to go in.
Nothing is built yet, but attached are some pics of hard parts he has bought. I will take pics as we proceed on the build. I am also going to record and put it on my youtube channel.

LT1 block bored .0303 over, 4 bolt bowtie splayed caps, line honed, cam bearings preinstalled.

Forged Lunati rotating assembly with cam that was purchased by someone else from http://elliottsportworks.com/ 2nd half of 2016, but was never installed. We took everything to a local machine shop to have balance and weight matching double checked, and it was determined to be accurate.

Pistons will be fitted with HellFire rings

    Additional hardware

Will be getting the 7qt oil pan

And last but not least, I get to have fun while working on this. He will be my DD Designated Driver I will also be a DD Designated Drinker. :P

    Please don't
    drink and drive

Valve springs came by UPS today. So we removed the old springs from the Trick Flows, then took everything to the machine shop so they can get the install height established to spec.

Not his or mine but we had to steal a pic of this while we there

That's a big Ol' Lunati bumpstick! That'll be a lot of fun! Definitely don't drink and drive behind the wheel of that (or anything else for that matter).

Here ya go. I don't have any video of it up yet. We did check main bearing clearance last night. We had .002 on bearing 1 thru 4 and .003 on 5 the thrust bearing. Machine shop said we should have a little larger clearance on that thrust bearing, and it looks like we got it.

It takes a while for me to get video up because of time and editing. There's nothin on this build yet, but there will be
Hopefully I can take clips from video and use them to post pics here.

Okay the machine shop caught a mistake with the valve spring order. It was sent with spring seats and seals that was probably meant for stock heads. So he had to wait another week for shop to order correct seats and seals to fit theses heads.

Had them measure the combustion chamber while there and was determined to be 60.5cc

He also got a set of flow matched injectors

As far as the assembly, we had another set back. I was measuring piston to wall clearance and came up short. He needs a mininum of .0045 to .0055
I only got .0045 on cyl 7,2, and 8 the rest were .0040 and .0042. Which would be fine with naturally aspirated, but the plan is for her to be a squirter so she needs a bigger hole
So I removed crank and cam to take the block back to machine shop.
The King rod bearings that came with rotating assembly also were too tight. They measured out at .0015.
We bought one Clevite HX series bearing and that measured at .0027 so he will order a complete set of them. The rod journals on the crank measured 2.9995 on all of them.
