94z 4l60e to a 700r4
I was told that I can put a 700r4 in my z28 when my 4l60e wend out... what all do I have to do to make a non electronic trans work

You would need to rig up a TV cable, do something about the converter lockup and ...... Why on earth would you want to do that?

Your PCM will set numerous codes for the missing electronic trans. Will need to have the codes programmed out. Generally the tranny codes don't turn on the SES light. Not sure if the VSS in the 700R4 will be compatible with the 94 PCM. Then maybe there's a need to provide a lock-up signal to the converter. Maybe we should see if....

it only has reverse, planned on rebuilding it just cant find the time to even start on it... i was also told i can take the guts out of my 700r4 and put them in my 4l60e housing.... anybody know if thats true? if it is can ya give me a little info on it...
sorry for all my dumb girl questions but gotta ask if u wanna learn. i was raised on carburetors not computers lol

I would just wait and either fix the 4l60 or get a junk yard one. way to much fucking around

You can swap guts, but the guts are the cheap part. If you can do the rebuild yourself then a full kit is less than $200

well ima single mom and in school so 200 bucks would mean saving for like a month and i need it moving so it can make money for me to spend on it lol... so is that all i need to do? just take the inside out of the 700r4 and place it in the 4l60 housing? that simple?
