Me too, I made a short video of me crawling under the car to point out something to a member, and you can really hear the COPD wheezing on the recording, and I'm not even a smoker;-)

Starting at the beginning of 2017 in NJ, vehicles 1995 and older do not have any inspections of any kind - no emissions, no safety, no sticker. Not to say a cop couldn't give me a ticket for some obvious violation like no cats, but it could be just as much a street car as a track car.

cop cannot ticket you for that, but if you get bound up in one of those lovely nj mobile inspections that guy can break balls. @Ltconvert has been pulled over since the inspection change, and the cops haven't given him a hard time. his car it's VERY obvious it's modded/no cats etc

As far as I know, at least in NJ, a LEO can issue a ticket for any violation of the motor vehicle laws, including the emissions components. Just like tinted windows, non-conforming lighting, missing front license plate, excessive smoke, loud exhaust, jacked up trucks without the special MVC stability approval sticker etc.

Haven't seen a mobile inspection setup doing passenger vehicles in many years, and I drove more than a 1/4-million miles inspecting road projects in Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean, Atlantic, Mercer and Burlington counties. They seem to concentrate mostly on diesel trucks. Every day the company logistics manager sends out an e-mail noting were there are setups inspecting heavy trucks.

I mean, as far as plug and play setups go, you really have two choices... 24x, or Torquehead

If you want to go a little deeper on cost and complexity, FAST/MS/BS3 etc will all "work" to some extent.

Its all much easier if you stop thinking LT1 and start thinking Gen 1 SBC.
