Default wolfe 6 point bolt in install

didn't know where to put this, figured since in a way it's chassis stiffening related it may as well go here. anyone have an install guide or tips for installing a wolfe 6 point bolt in bar? I searched and couldn't find much. just a general guideline of lining it up etc. a measurement off something would be nice.

    thanks in advance

The NHRA Rule Book has diagrams showing spacing of the main hoop relative to the driver's helmet, details of required upper and lower plates for bolting the main hoop to the floor of a unibody vehicle, etc. Might help a bit. I can post a .pdf if you want.

if you could. wolfe is going to ship me the plates. it's only 4 plates, the front 2 mount to the front subframe, so plates aren't required. it will be welded later in life. thanks

The pictures on the Wolfe website of the 6-pt bolt-in on the website gives some idea of the main hoop location and the rear bars.

I'll post the NHRA info in the morning.

please do. do you have the over the seat bars? if so, if you could get me a measurement from the front of the plate to the edge of the package tray (where the back seat goes up against that edge) that would help immensely in aligning everything

I might be wrong, but I don't think a wolfe bolt in cage welded in place would be legal. If you read the rule book it says:

Unibody cars with stock floor and firewall (wheeltubs permitted) may attach roll bar with 6-inch x 6-inch x .125-inch steel plates on top and bottom of floor bolted together with at least four 3/8-inch bolts and nuts, or weld main hoop to rocker sill area with .125-inch reinforcing plates, with plates welded completely.

The reason I'm thinking it's not legal is because the Wolfe bolt in bar bolts to the floor down in the well behind the driver's seat, not up on the rocker sill area. I may be totally wrong on this, but I'd check it out before you weld it in place.

Also, I see you are in the Lehigh Valley area, do you have the roll bar already? If not, I have one I just took out of my car that I'm looking to sell. Only problem is it wont work with factory door covers.
