Stock or A/F heads
I bought a short block off of a member here and I'm starting the hunt/saving for heads I'm just looking to see if getting some oem aluminum heads or going with a aftermarket brand is preferred/better my end goal currently is to have a procharged lt1 with close to 600hp

One thing to remember is that most aftermarket heads have a thicker deck surface than stock heads. Can handle more boost down the road if you decide to up the power. With that said, there are plenty of boosted engines out there with worked stock heads in your HP range. I'm one to always plan ahead.

Stock heads here, does ok power wise.
But, if you can swing it without sacrificing bottom end or tune money, get aftermarket heads.Correlation does not imply causation.

I would contact Lloyd Elliot. He will point you in the right direction. I have a set of his TrickFlow 195X's sitting on the shelf that he did for me. Haven't got my build together yet but I can tell you that they are a work of art and flow very well. He can spec a custom cam to match it all also.

Im running afr 227 ELIMINATORS. They allegedly flow in the 300s the way they come.
They have been great on my set up. I actually saw a drop in boost with my maxed out p1sc, when i swapped the ported stockers and yet hp went up (yes boost is a measurement of restriction, so more flow/ less restriction is more power...lol).
The only thing that sucked was 1200 bucks in shaft mounted rockers...
