    Default Loss of trap speed

I took the car to the drag strip last night and noticed a huge loss of trap speed and I don't know why.

The car has gone 122 but the best I could get out of it last night was 113. The only changes were switching from a cai to a ws6 hood and intake, changing from 1-3/4 to stepped 1-7/8 headers and 3in true duals.

On the old set up, it dynoed 502rwhp and 455rwtq.

It still runs smooth. Anyone got any ideas?

What size rear gears, what rpm did you cross the line at on the old setup, any power adder?

4.10 gears, was right around 6300-6400 on old set up. One of the reasons I went up in tire size. On motor.

You may try adding an h or x pipe to the new exhaust system. You may be down a bit of torque from the switch to true duals. I'm curious now as to where the loss in power is. Are you still at full weight? Depending on weight you're down 75-100 hp.

3600lbs raceweight. I've got a similar thread on the other site. A few guys gave me some things to try out. One guy said he had the same problem and it ended up being a cracked spark plug. Other than that, the only other things I can think of are a failing fuel pump or the new intake and exhaust through the tune way off.

I didn't record DA but it was at the same track both times. Similar temperatures. If anything, the faster times were in hotter temps.
