Thread: what oil drive gear to use?
-
09-22-2016, 08:10 AM #11
Was the cam from Comp, Lunati or Bullet?
When ordering a BILLET cam we always get an "everwear" gear pressed on the back of the cam so it is compatable with stock type oil drive gears instead of getting a BILLET cam with BILLET gear that requires special oil drive gear and frequent changes.
High volume/high pressure pumps will put extra load on the oil drive gear also.

Oh, I just re-read where it was a BULLET brand cam and not a BILLET material cam.
Cast cam should be fine with stock type geara nd even if its a BILLET cam with the everwear gear it should be fine with stock type oil drive gear also.

Good to meet you Dan. When you have time maybe you can swing by here and tell us a little bit about yourself and the Caprice.
