Default Question About The Proper BackSpace For My Setup

Can anyone lead me in the right direction in getting the proper backspace for my setup to get the right wheels?
    I Have A :
Currie 9" Rear End That I Measured From Flange To Flange At 56"
From Doing ReSearch I Read The Stock 10 Bolt Is 65"?

That leaves me with 9" Shorter Than Stock , Which Is 4.5" narrowed each side

    So would this mean I need around a 4 - 4.5 Backspace wheel ?

please let me know if anyone has any advice or if my method is even correct

    thanks !

    65" - 56" = 9"

....so you are 4.5" narrower per side. Huge narrowing.

Or did I miss something in your post?

The max backspace on the stock rear is about 7.95", based on my 11" wide 7.93" backspace wheels. The Strange 12-bolt I have, which is a direct drop in for the stock 10-bolt is 64.72" to the outside face of the axle hub = mounting surface for the wheel.

Clear up the math above and we can calculate the maximum possible backspace on your rear. Then the question is what width wheels will you be running? And do you want the outside edge of the tire right under the edge of the fender? That will allow a calculation of the required offset.

If I'd like to run a 10" Wheel , and my rear is narrowed 4.5 "
    7.5 Minus 4.5 brings me to 3
Would a 3.5 Backspace work on an f body ?? I'm looking at the Weld Rts and I know they don't offer whole number backspacing?

I hate to bump this but can anybody let me know if I have a good idea of what backspace to order, plan on ordering my rear Rts tomrrow

Rear is narrowed 4.5" on each side
Will a 3.5 Backspace put me close to Stock location ?

I understand I'll likely need offset lca
And I'm going to try to make it work without mini tubs but if I have to of course I'll add that too my list
    Plans are 15x10 , 275/60 Tire
Any help is much appreciated !
    Merry X mas !

Google wheel offset calculater. The stock rear wheels have 7 5 back space. Or contact wheel manufacturer.

    Stock 16” x 8.0” 55mm offset wheels have a 6.65” backspace. Stock (SS, WS6) 17” x 9.0 50mm offset wheels have a 7.0” backspace.

Hopefully he figured this out in the 12 months since he posted.
