    Default 1994 Z28 Turbo build

First some backstory, my brother bought a 94z28 in 2005 and we built a 396 and drove it on the street, some kids vandalized it and we pulled the motor and put it in a 68 SS Camaro and raced it for a couple of years. Eventually decided to redo the entire 68 so I pulled the motor and sold off all of my LT1 engines and parts.

Couple of years ago bought a 94z28 Hardtop.

Drove it for a while just for fun, picked up little pieces here and there at any junkyard I saw to make it look better in my opinion.

I got a couple of Gen IV 5.3 Truck Engines and a little while later found this turbo for really cheap, Precision 7675 CEA.

The engine is pretty much stock, I put some PAC 1218s and their trunion upgrade that I bought direct from PAC's HQ when I was in Detroit hanging out with people I met at the LTX shootout. Had to buy a Fbody oil pan, pickup, and windage tray, that cost almost as much as I paid for the engine.

I bought the turbo kit from CXRacing and for the most part it was pretty good, however I used my own turbo instead of theirs and the compressor housing was too big to clear the crank pulley...... so I cut it up and moved the turbo forward more.

Found a 4l80e in the junkyard for $120 bucks, put a transgo kit on it and replaced the oil pan. I haven't finalized the intercooler mounting or the radiator mounting.

Bought a Megasquirt 3+extra with a microsquirt to control the transmission via CANBUS. AEM sells a wideband that displays on a gauge and feeds 0-5VDC to the MS box for tuning and datalogging. The rest of the sensors are just stock with some 80lb siemens deka injectors. The fuel system is a 400lph ebay pump to a custom Y setup running 58psi at the rail. I put a LS1 kmember along with a BMR torque arm and LCAs. Hopefully the 10bolt lives behind the abuse. I have only a 10psi spring in the waste gate but I've seen 190kpa ~13psi already so I may have the plumbing wrong on the gate.

I'm using a Leash Electronics streetcar wiring board, it handles everything electrical, the lights, starter, fuel pump, ecu. I'm still only adding the stuff I want as far as electrical, I found some manual window doors in the junkyard so I'm not going to run any electric to the doors maybe power locks if I feel like it. Still debating on just installing a blank fiberglass dash and running a Racepak dash off the CANBUS on the MS box.

Got the car running and driving a couple of weeks ago, I want to get the tune right and then start cleaning the wiring and all.

I'll upload the rest of the picture later today, my internet is really crappy right now.

Looking good! I've been told that the spring pressure in the gate isn't always equal to boost pressure. I run a 6# spring and see 13# of boost. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
