    Default Harbor freight tool box

So I may be changing jobs and if so i need another box. Ive got a 2 bay Matco but hate to move it out of my shop. Anyone have one of these US generals? Looked at them the other night and they seem pretty rigid(not neaw what a Matco or snap on is) and pretty lagre for 800 bones.

Great entry level toolbox. Seen many guys use them on a budget too. I was thinking about buying the cart myself for my scanner and other diagnostic tools.

Screw entry level or not. The HF tool boxes are an OUTSTANDING VALUE. Sure they don't say "Snap On, MAC, Matco, Cornwell, etc" on them, but they do the job same as the others. They hide your tools and let you lock the door. Spending thousands on a dang metal box is just insane.

That said, I'm pining for the 72" box myself and want to sell my craftsman BB griplatch 40" combo setup. I want the workspace on top.

Not bad for a "cheap" line. I use one of the carts at work. The drawer slides and latches are the main shortcomings IMO

Well when you use one every day and pack it full of heavy tools and the bottom spot welds break you would know what I meant by entry level. Im not trying to say dont buy it. My matco box has had its fair share of problems too. No hate at all on the Harbor Freight stuff.

I agree. Hard to beat a good box. My matco I can climb up the drawers to get something on top of the office. Id also say the top drawer has 150 lbs of sockets and pry bars and holds up good. And mine is the cheaper 4 series. No doubt it is built better than the harbor freight. But for they money I like the HF. Plus if a towmotor dents my 4k matco box id be pissed. If it dents up a 800 HF box Ill still be pissed but would get over it quicker.

I haven't been able to find a better deal than this.

The construction on it is good, comes with the liners and the bearings feel solid. The only real negative I've heard is that the drawers are 15 3/4 deep while some others are deeper.

I'm going with this one and getting rid of my two smaller Craftsman one's. Like Fastbird I want the work space on top. I was looking at the HF one's but then I found this one as an online only. It's deeper and a little bit wider than what I was considering from HF. I've heard lots of good things about the HF boxes though.
