Drag bars. Who's running one street/strip?
Ok, doing some suspension mods this year. Looking at UMI drag bar setup. They are near by and I can pick up from them. I mostly cruise and occasionally hit the drag strip. Honestly I don't drive much. Car doesn't hook right now. I am a six speed and understand they are hard to make hook on a drag redial. I switched to ET Pro's for this year. Plenty of guys going fast with these. Trying something different. I'm keeping the six speed. Love rowing gears. I read good and bad about running drag bars on the street. I know my car is setup to go straight and don't even think about trying to take a turn hard. So who is running one that does double duty on the street/strip? Pro's? Cons? Would I be better to go with air bags and a stiffer sway bar? Appreciate any advice.
Here's a list of what I currently have.
AJE Suspension spindle mount coilover setup.
UMI adjustable torque arm.
UMI LCA relocation brackets,
UMI adj lower control arms, poly front/ rod end rear.
Sphon adj panhard bar. Upper bar also.
QA1 Rear coilovers double adjustable.
No front sway bar.
Welded in frame connectors.
Also switched from a 15X8 to a 15X10 wheel. Tires are 275/60R15 M/T ET Pro's. Definitely put more tire contact on the road.
Let me know your thoughts.

I DD on a UMI drag bar, never really notice its there. Obviously with rod end stuff you will get road noise but the rest of the is just as noisy anyway. It will over steer like a bitch if you take turns to hard/fast for sure though.
But, they do make for a straight leaving carCorrelation does not imply causation.

I'm running a BMR drag bar in the bird and I don't have an issue with street driving. I don't banzai through corners but it actually handles pretty well. I think my DA shocks really help dial in the ride. Its not harsh nor soft.
I was leary about going with a drag bar for the street but I have no complaints after making the switch.

Same here. I run the UMI Drag Bar and no front bar. It handles better than I thought it would but I don't fly around corners with the skinnies on. The car leaves straight, so I have no complaints

I have the BMR Xtreme Anti-Roll bar with skinnies and no front sway bar. Only thing I really noticed is how the rear end will "fight" you around turns slightly. It's not terrible, just feels like the rear of the vehicle is trying to continue to go straight (as the design intends) while you're turning at higher speeds.
Honestly like Blackbird said, I was very hesitant to install one thinking it would make the car annoying to drive but I really didn't notice a huge difference in how it drove negatively.Last edited by myltwon; 03-29-2016 at 03:53 PM.

I'm running the TRZ anti rollbar, just has street driving on it to brake in the new rear but you don't really feel it back there. I did go up a big dip in a driveway and it lifted one of the rear wheels, so you know its doing its job back there.

here you go, their shop is like 45 mins from me so i went down there and picked it up. Fitment is amazing bolts right in only have to drill out the panhard bar bolt holes a size or two, and is up out of the way. Plus it gives you all the room for rear coil overs, i have a set of AFCO's i still need to install.
