Who wants to have a Shootout Car Show in 2016?
For the last several years we (the Arkansas and Kansas folks) have enjoyed putting together a car show the Friday before the Shootout. Car show attendance has been as high as approximately 24 cars in past. Over the last couple of years attendance has been rather low for various reasons - but mainly due to weather.
As we approach the 2016 Shootout we have been discussing possibly changing it up this year. Maybe different platform for the car show...something less formal. Here are a few ideas we have been throwing around...
Setup like usual (time and location) but no formal prizes - still have goodies bags for all
Setup like usual but no formal prizes - order pizza or grill some hot dogs and hamburgers
Setup like usual but only do a best in show prize
...or just leave it as is and more people show up!
So I was hoping for some input from the people who attend the Shootout. Any preferences or suggestions are welcome. Regardless we will be there for all the festivities...See you in Bowling Green!

I understand ur concern... maybe for the sake of cost... just do it the same and maybe just do like a top 3 best in show with awards...whether it be trophies or t shirts or something simpler like that...

what about car show the night after the race...everyone is in the parking lot anyways and would not require showing up the night before the race

I'm a fan of the way you've been doing it. Maybe lessen the classes if needed. I like the people's choice. 1/2 of my trophy's from the Shootout are from the car show!

I know we appreciate you guys putting on the show every year. I know we usually roll in right at lunch time on Friday, what about pushing the show back a little later in the day to avoid the heat a bit? Most people are out in the parking lot into the evening anyway. Just a suggestion.
We will help advertise the show as much as possible to hopefully boost car count, just let me know what you decide.2013 King of Street & ES/PA Champ

Some good suggestions so far. I think less prizes to some extent is a must for this year.

I like the car show the way it is but I understand if you have to make cuts.
