Sadly I think I'm going to bring it in and have a shop diagnose it. I was hoping not to resort to this, but I've run out of talent at this point.

You need to hook a laptop/scanner up to it and figure our why it's doing this. Years ago when I did LTs on my car, the trans was in limp mode. No first gear. I sent the list of codes to a tuner and got a mail order to resolve the problem and make the car run pretty close to where it should be.

How sure are you that the trans came out of a 94 impala?

The guy I bought if from knew how these go and asked specifically if I was putting it in a '94. No reason not to trust him... yet.

    ***Update***

So, as it turns out I still didn't have the harness plugged in all the way. The good news is that I have all gears and TC lock-up. Bad news is the leak that I though was coming from the cooling lines is coming from the harness input. Do they make a replacement seal for that (I didn't see one out there on the webs) or am I on the hook for a whole new internal harness?

It sucks, by the time I get this squared away the snow will be flying.

Thanks for all the feed back everyone!

There's an o ring that seals the harness connector to the case. The biggest PITA is that you have to drop the pan, remove the 2nd accumulator housing, and pull the pressure control solenoid out of the valve body to remove the plug. It's also fun to try collapsing the4 tabs at once that hold the connector in the case. I have a tool for doing it.
