Yes I pulled the driver's side last night. My dumb self forgot to get the part number lol. Just one bulb per housing though. Should I pull one again in the morning? Wow, I feel dumb

If you could get a pic of the entire lamp assembly, that would be good. If it's just a lamp and nothing more, I really can't see how it would have a high beam mode. You said high beams worked once but call me skeptical if all its just a static HID lamp with no movable shield or other way for the pattern to change.

I'll just pull it again and snap a pic. I didn't find any solenoid, or anything besides a bulb for that matter. Also, there were only two wires running to the bulb, a hot and a ground. My understanding of lighting and wiring is limited, but shouldn't there be another wire if there was a high beam circuit? I remember my high beams having a different pattern; it extended out further ahead. I'll get that picture for you.

Sounds like nothing more than a basic HID kit. There are three wires for the factory wiring (one ground, one for low beam filament, one for high). It possible the kit simply is supposed to keep the HID lamp lit when you command the highs otherwise it would just turn off. To be honest, the HID in that housing will cause so much glare that it will be like you are driving with high beams on all the time anyway.

Sorry, I stated earlier that there were only two wires running to the bulb. I was wrong. There are four. A larger diameter hit and ground, and a smaller diameter hot and ground.

I also installed a new dimmer switch today because the old one felt "sloppy" and loose. That did not solve the issue. I need to go back and adjust it now; it needs to slide away from the steering wheel a little.

I take it you didn't get a shot of the back of the lamp? Its possible there is a small solenoid in there which will move the HID lamp forward and back. Its actually good it has that shield (called a Casper shield) on it. That will help reduce glare big time.

I'm beginning to think that this is just a cheap kit. Should I just bite the bullet and have a better one installed?
