Default Best parts of the 94/96

Wrapping up fab work on my 108" wheel base 88' 1500 Chevy so it's time get the motor going.
Currently I have a 96 two bolt steel head motor that ran great when I pulled it from a Buick. Also have a 94 vette 4 bolt short block unknown history. The heads being used been reworked for 2.05/1.62 and port worked some. 24X swap 4l60e truck is 3200lbs this will be a mix and match if needed just to get the truck up and rolling. What would you guys use? I'm not ready to lay the cash for full blown rework on splayed caps and all for the Buick motor yet.
How well do these 2bolt LTs hold up
Would it be better to swap guts and rering the vette block.
I just don't want to waste anything
