    Default touch screen radio/gps

Just installed this in my car...its not a computer, but its radio, bluetooth, dvd, gps...all that good stuff. i love it, fits well. I have to find some sort of new faceplate, or install kit, because the old one will require some cutting and leave openings on both sides...anyway ill update as i figure that out.

right now it fits in just enough to hold itself tight.

i did have to remove some of the bracing inside to make it fit.

6LE has a faceplate that might work for you.

I actually picked up one from amazon. May be the same guy I'm not sure. It was the cheaper version at like 30.00. Ibhad to file it a lot to make it fit right but I've finally got it working pretty good. The plastic isn't identical to the factory stuff but it looks good.

They had like an 80.00 option that looked more like factory plastic. It may have fit better as well, but I'm cheap haha

Thats the head unit. I think my girfriend picked it up on ebay for a little under 200 though.

Its not perfect, it has some flaws, but i guess thats to be exxpected for the price.

the gps didnt have any "points of interest" when i got it, so you coudlnt really search for anything. I was able to download some gps software with points of interest in it, and install it on the gps sd card. It works pretty great now, although getting the gps installed and working correctly on the sd card can be tricky. It also may have been just a fault in my particular unit that caused it not to have the points of interest, because i didnt see any other complaints about this.

The other bad thing i have found is that the blue tooth will not continue to play when you click over to navigation. Dvd, media, stereo, cd, ipod, everthing else seems to work with navi but not blue tooth.
Lastly, the gps does not talk to you if you are on another screen like dvd, radio etc. you have to be on the gps screen for it to speak to you...
once again it could be a fault in my unit.

Theres a lot to research when decided on a head unit like this. I guess some of the upper end ones may use a different source for the gps. where as mine uses an extra sd card slot.
There are also some that are app radios, and some that off like a mirror option with your smart phone, which i thought would be awesome. It's just the price that got me, looking at those you quickly get close to a thousand bucks for something nice. I just wanted a nice upgrade and a gps.
Overall considering the price im very happy with it!

Ha not quite. One of the big lessons in life is how rough to be with things lol. I'm still learning.

Though setting up the GPS on the sd card was a nightmare. I'm sure it's simple to a software person , but setting up the files and the software path was a pain in the butt to me. Probably took me a few hours to finally get it right. Now I love it though.

I have no idea what you are talking about!

This really has pushed me to want one. I hate the one I have in it now. Plus it allows me to put a camera up front or in back so I don't run over any hipsters.
