Default Anyone here ever bought from redline goods?

I got a new shift boot and the retainer ring for it, and the ring doesn't fit at all. I've emailed them pictures and they said they think I have a 97+ console and ordered the wrong part... I sent them more pictures and said it's definitely not the new style. Waiting for a reply now. Anyway, here are some pictures of the ring. Anyone ever mess with these?

I have a redline boot. The 93-96 ring is practically the same as the 97+ There is just one more or one less tab on the 93-96 I believe..

Its going to be super tight too.. there is a way it goes it. I think its front first, then the right side. That does look a little big though..

I worked it all the way in there, but it's definitely not right. It just takes a light touch for the ring to come flying out. There's no way it'll go in with the boot.

The part with the hump is supposed to be on the passenger side.. That's how mine is. Like I said, it went in SUPER tight.

Edit: Err, I think you have in it correctly, hard to see.. I'll get a pic of mine tomorrow without the boot on for you. Mines a 97.. so...

Did yours come with notches cut in the boot? I can sort of force the wire in, but I can't get the boot to stay on the wire. It has 2 slits cut in the back (I think it's the back) and just notches the rest of the way around. The notches don't even really line up with the tabs on the wire.

Mine had little tabs cut into the boot. I had to make another one. Your boot looks..strange.. That sure is weird man.

I asked them how to install it since it's obviously not like the one in their instructions, we'll see what they say. In the meantime, I put the stock boot in with the new wire clip. My new boot was also shortened by 2" so it'll fit better with the MGW.

Ok, so a little creativity, some zip ties, a razor blade, and super glue and I got the thing in. It still needs some adjusting, but it's pretty close. Also, I think the 2" shorter boot is about perfect for the MGW.
