    Default Carb conversion questions

Decided to go carburater. Been doing research on the topic and have a few questions, hopefully yall can help me out.

I understand I need the gmpp intake. For the distributor, I'd like to go with an msd. I'm unsure of if I get an hei, do I need or can I run the 6al box too? Would I need to upgrade the module so that it has a Rev limiter?

I've seen on summit they sell a block off plate for on the timing cover where the optispark is. I'm planning on making my own instead of spending $65 for some aluminum.

What fittings / hoses do I need to use on the fuel lines? I'm also planning on running a bigger return from the fuel gauge to the tank.

Single or double pumper holley carb? And is 650cfm appropriate? Mechanical or electric choke? I live in Florida and my dad says he takes his choke off since it's never really cold enough. Will it fit under the hood easily?

I've got electric water pump wired to the ignition, and plan to make switches for the fans and for the starter. I think it'll be cool to have a switch to start it like nascar.

What becomes of the pcm? Can I just take it out completely with the harness or will it still need to control some stuff?

That's what's on my mind so far...
@jay97lt1 I saw on another thread ur converting back to injection. Maybe I can swap parts with ya or just buy some from ya.

Thanks popo, that's where the majority of the research has led me is to that other site. Seems to be the only full write up. He's just kinda all over the place with it and left me with some questions on the specifics

    Oh ok...

I can tell u the carb is gonna depend on ur heads and set up. I was planning on running a 750 on mine.

As for the msd box... im not sure if its necessar, but its a benefit... id run one either way.

I sold one to @jcznova b4... maybe he is willing to sell it.

Im my thread, there is a link to the timing cover i was gonna use. Id spend the mo ey and use that rather than make one because its a nice piece and incorporates timing marks as well.

Youre planning on putting a 750 on the vette? I'd like to run the msd, but don't know if certain distributors are compatible or what. Up to this point I've only worked on fuel Injection lol. I didn't know the cover has timing marks is that what the part that sticks out is? I have the dampener he listed on the write up that has marks on it I think I just need a bar to match up with?

Thats what i meant... the indicator. .. not timing marks. Marks are on the dampner.
